Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Maison Lafon (“Maison Lafon,” “we,” “us”) handles information across:
- Our website, maison-lafon.com;
- Maison Lafon Growth OS, our social media management service (“Growth OS”); and
- Connected platforms: third-party social platforms, such as TikTok, that you choose to connect to Growth OS.
We only receive the information described below, and only for the purposes described below.
1. Connecting a social account
Connecting a social account to Growth OS is always your choice. You sign in on the platform itself (for TikTok, through TikTok Login Kit) using a secure authorization process known as OAuth. The platform shows you which permissions Growth OS is requesting, and you decide whether to approve them. We never see or receive your password for that platform.
2. Information we receive
From connected platforms, with your permission:
- Basic profile information that the platform makes available under the permissions you approve, such as your display name and profile picture.
- Authorization tokens, which allow Growth OS to make requests to the platform on your behalf. These tokens are kept and used server-side; they are not exposed in your browser.
Content you choose to upload: if you upload content through Growth OS (for example, a video, image or caption) to publish to a connected platform, we process that content to deliver it to the platform as you request.
When you contact us: if you email us, we receive the information you include in your message.
On our website: the public pages of maison-lafon.com do not require an account. The site remembers your language choice (English, French or Chinese) in your browser’s local storage; this stays on your device. The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver pages to you.
3. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- provide and operate the Growth OS features you request, such as connecting your account and carrying out the actions you ask Growth OS to perform on a connected platform;
- respond to your messages and requests, including deletion requests; and
- keep our services secure and working properly, and meet our legal obligations.
4. Sharing
We do not sell TikTok user data, or any personal information received through connected platforms. We do not share it with third parties, except:
- with the connected platform itself, when you ask Growth OS to perform an action there (for example, sending content you choose to publish);
- with service providers who help us run our services on our behalf, such as website hosting; or
- where required by law.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep connected-account information, including authorization tokens, only for as long as your account remains connected and it is needed to provide Growth OS. Content you upload is kept only as long as needed to complete the action you requested.
To request deletion of your connected-account data, email hi@maison-lafon.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and the username of the connected account. We will delete the data associated with that account and confirm once it is done.
To disconnect a platform, remove Growth OS from the apps and services you have authorized in that platform’s settings (in TikTok, in your account’s security and permissions settings). Once access is removed, Growth OS can no longer make requests to that platform for your account.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle. Authorization tokens are kept server-side, and access to them is limited to what is needed to provide the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly on any issue we become aware of.
7. Third-party platforms
Connected platforms are operated by independent companies. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, including the TikTok Privacy Policy. Growth OS is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok or any other platform.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw your consent, for example by disconnecting a platform. To make a request, email hi@maison-lafon.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
9. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly receive personal information from them. If you believe a child has connected an account, contact us and we will delete the associated data.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and revise the effective date above.
